I was trying to figure out how to adapt our tradition of hiding the Alleluias during Lent and this idea came to me out of the blue. So I put together a document that can be printed on 11×17 paper that includes a diagram for folding a masu box so that “Alleluia” is on the inside of the figure for the duration of Lent, and then can be reversed at Easter! The boxes can be used to collect alms to be given away during Lent. Below you’ll find a link to download the .pdf of a full color version and a simplified version that can be colored in at home.
